Depending on the server conguration, you may need to change the SCSI IDs of the autoloader,
Changing thedriveSCSIID”onpage39.
Make sure that the correct drivers are installed, and that the backup software is compatible
with the autoloader, see Drivers and Backup Software on page 15. Software compatibility
information is available at w
ww.hp.com/go/connect. Backup software packages may require
additional software or licensing to communicate with the autoloader robotics.
Ensure the autoloader is properly terminated. If the autoloader is the only SCSI device, other
than the
SCSI host adapter on the selected SCSI bus, it must be terminated. Likewise, if the
autoloader is physically the last SCSI device on the SCSI bus, it must be terminated. Only the
devices physically located at the beginning and end of the SCSI bus should be terminated.
Verify the connection bet ween the autoloader and the host by:
Installing the HP Library & Tape Tools diagnostic utility available at w
ww.hp.com/supp ort/
TapeToo ls. Install this utility onto the host server. This utility veries that the autoloader is
connected and communicating with the host server. It also veries that the autoloader is
functioning and provides diagnostic information.
•Conrming the host server’s operating system recognize d the autoloader in Microsoft® In
Windows® Server 2003 or in Windows 2000® by going to: Settings > Co n trol Panel >
