Flex Copy XP user guide 31
System operation example
Figure 18 shows an example of the data backup system operation using Flex Copy XP.
In Figure 18, backup data from the external array in the Branch Office is obtained in the local array
installed in the Head Office.
Figure 18 Obtaining backup data from the Branch Office to the Head Office
In this example, the online backup system operation is made possible using Flex Copy XP on the local
array with Business Copy XP on the external array. The concentrating backup system configuration is also
possible by connecting multiple external arrays to one local array.
pairresync
(see Figure 13 for the relationship between the
command and pair status.)
• When you do not specify the -restore option
parameter:
Copy processing from the P-VOL to the S-VOL
executes. After copy processing completes, the
P-VOL and S-VOL statuses change to PAIR.
• When you specify the -restore option parameter:
Copy processing from the S-VOL to the P-VOL
executes. After copy processing completes, the
P-VOL and S-VOL statuses change to PAIR.
• You can specify the copy pace using the
-c <size> option parameter. Specify one of the
following values:
1 or 2: Slower
3: Medium
4-15: Faster
If you specify Slower, the effect on host I/O
decreases because of the copy processing’s slow
pace. If you specify Faster, copy processing
completes in a short time period. If you omit this
option, Medium is set.
pairevtwait Waits for completion of pair processing and checks the
status.
pairmon Obtains the pair status transition of each pair and the
errors.
pairvolchk Acquires the volume attribute.
raidscan Checks the connection configuration of the local and
external arrays.
