
1 Installation requirements
This chapter describes the installation requirements for the RAID Manager (RAID Manager) software.
System requirements
RAID Manager operations involve the RAID Manager software on the UNIX/PC server host, the
command device(s) on the RAID storage system(s), and the logical volumes on the RAID storage
system(s).
The system requirements for RAID Manager are:
• RAID Manager software product. The RAID Manager software is supplied on CD-ROM or
diskette.
• Host platforms: RAID Manager operations are supported on the following host platforms:
HP-UX◦
◦ Solaris, Solaris/x86
◦ AIX
◦ Tru64 UNIX
◦ DYNIX
◦ WindowsNT
◦ WindowsNT/x64
◦ Linux, Linux/IA64

The raidcom commands operations are supported on the following host platforms.

• Host access. Root/administrator access to the host is required to perform RAID Manager
operations.
• Required Memory Capacity for the host
This product requires static memory and dynamic memory for executing the load module.Static
