1. Front USB port

To use the front USB port, connect the laptop to the front USB port by using a USB

cable.

Depending on the version of Mac OS X running on the computer, open one of the

following programs to verify that the printer has been added to the computer:

• OS X 10.2 and earlier: Print Center

• OS X 10.3 and later: Printer Setup Utility

Note: If your computer is running Mac OS X 10.3 or later, and the printer does

not print when the computer is connected to the front USB port, open

the Printer Setup Utility and add the printer.

6.3 Networking

You can make a printer available to other computers on a network by sharing the

printer.

You can use any of the following HP Jetdirect print servers to place the printer on

a network.

• HP Jetdirect 175x

• HP Jetdirect 310x

• HP Jetdirect 380x
