Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Precautions

Electrostatic charges can damage the integrated circuits on printed circuit boards.

TO prevent such damage from ckxming, &bservethe following precautions when

unpacking and installing the board.

● Stand on a static–free mat.

● Wear a staticstrap to ensure that any accumulated electrostatic charge dis-

charges from your body to ground.

● Connect all equipment together, including the static–free mat, staticstraps,

routing nodes, and peripheral units.

. Keep uninstalled printed circuit boards in theirprotective antistaticbags.

● Once you have removed the printed circuit boards from their protective an-

tistatic bags, handle them by their edges.
