Restoring the Software
97Storage Management Appliance Software User Guide
Installing the v2.1 Software Update
Installing the v2.1 software is not necessary if you used a QuickRestore CD that
restores the Storage Management Appliance with version 2.1 of the software.
If you used any other version of the QuickRestore CD, install the v2.1 software
update after you have restored the factory-installed software and reinstalled all
value-added HP storage management applications.

software v2.1.
Reinstalling Optional Backup Software
If you used optional, third-party backup software to complete the most recent
backup of the Storage Management Appliance, you must now install that software
on the SMA. Many backup products require an agent to be installed on the SMA.

Restoring the Database and Configuration Data
You can now restore the Storage Management Appliance database and
configuration data.
If you completed the most recent backup using the Storage Management
Appliance Backup feature on the Maintenance page (Settings > Maintenance)
then use the Restore feature available on the same page. See “Backing Up and
Restoring Data Files” on page 77 for more information.
If you completed the most recent backup using another backup product, use that
product’s procedures for restoring the Storage Management Appliance database
and configuration data.
Note: You cannot restore the Storage Management Appliance software v2.1 using
backup data from a previous version of the software.
