4. In the Permission template name field, enter a name for the permission template.
5. In the Comment field, enter any desired text.
6. Click Next. The Select folder screen appears.
7. If you want to add the permission template to a folder, click Browse to browse to the folder. The
folder must already be created. For information about creating folders, see “Creating
folders” on page 317.
8. Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.
9. Click Finish. The new permission template is created.
Copying permissions from permission templates to entities
Copying permissions from a permission template gives the entity the same user permissions as defined
in the permission template.
To copy permissions from a permission template to an entity:
1. Do one of the following:
• Right-click an entity and select Security.
•
Select an entity and click in the toolbar.
The Security dialog box appears.
2. Click Use template permission. The Copy User Permissions from the template wizard opens to
the Select template screen.

3. In the top right area of the screen, select a permission template.
4. Click Add. The permission template you selected appears in the lower right area of the screen.
If you want to deselect the permission template, select the permission template in the lower right
area and click Remove.
5. Click Next. A confirmation screen appears.
