drop-down list is displayed.

Returns to the Create V-VOL wizard dialog box (2) while maintaining the settings in this dialog

Fixes the setting in the Create V-VOL wizard dialog box (3) and closes the dialog box.
• Cancel button
Cancels the setting in the Create V-VOL wizard dialog box (3) and closes the dialog box.
Deleting Virtual Volumes
To delete V-V
OL(s):
1. Change the mode of the Remote Web Console to Modify.
If the mode is already changed to Modify, you can skip this step. For information on to change
the mode, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console User’s Guide.
2. In the V-VOL
group tree in the V-VOL window, select and right-click the V-VOL group which
contains the V-VOL(s) you want to delete.
Apop-upmenuisdisplayed.
3. Select the D
elete V-VOL Group command from the pop-up menu.
Aconfirmation message is displayed asking if it is OK to delete the selected V-VOL group.
4. Click OK.
The icon of t
he selected V-VOL group changes to the icon which indicates the deleting process.
5. Click Apply.
Aconfirmation message is displayed asking if it is OK to apply the setting to the storage system.
6. Click OK.
The confirmation message closes and the deletion of the V-VOL group is applied to the subsystem.
Note:
You cannotdeletethe V-VOLifitisusedasthe S-VOLofthe XP Snapshotpair. To delete theV-VOL
that is used as the S-VOL, first you need to delete that pair.
Creating XP Snapshot Pairs
Use the paircreate command of the RAID Manager to create XP Snapshot pairs. To create XP Snapshot
pairs, thefollowing arerequired.
•
Specify a volume that meets the requirements in Table 13 on page 25 as a P-VOL
•
Specify a volume that meets the requirements in Table 14 on page 26 as an S-VOL
• Specify the same size volumes as a P-VOL and S-VOL
• When you use a volume that is already used as the P-VOL of another pair for the P-VOL of the
new pair, specify the same pool for the pairs which share the P-VOL

Storing
Snapshot Data
Use the p
airsplit command of the RAID Manager to store snapshot data in the pool. You can store 64
snapshot data at most per P-VOL. To store snapshot data, the pair status must be PAIR.

: When a P-VOL is paired with two or more volumes, make sure that none of the pairs is in
COPY(RS
-R) status.
