Power down the server (on page 27).

2. Extend the server from the rack ("Extending the server from the rack" on page 27).

3. Remove the access panel ("Removing the access panel" on page 28).

4. Open the latch, and remove the expansion slot cover.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

5. Unlock the retaining clip (for full-length expansion boards).

6. Install the expansion board.

7. Lock the retaining clip (for full-length expansion boards), and close the latch.

8. Connect any required internal or external cables to the expansion board.

9. Replace the access panel ("Removing the access panel" on page 28).

10. Slide the server into the rack.

11. Power up the server (on page 27).
