Introduction

The integration of HP ProLiant and Fibre Channel Management SNMP events into the

Netcool/OMNIbus provides valuable hardware status and event information that helps simplify the

systems management environment, enabling you to proactively manage ProLiant hardware with other

enterprise resources from within a common Netcool/OMNIbus environment.

The HP Insight Integration module for Netcool/OMNIbus includes rules to correlate nearly 785 SNMP

events. These rules integrate closely with the Netcool application, enabling SNMP events to be

identified, processed, translated, and clearly displayed in the Event List.

Managing SNMP events in the Event List

The HP Insight Integration module for Netcool/OMNIbus provides rules to correlate nearly 785

events. These rules enable SNMP events generated by Insight Management Agents to be correctly

identified, processed, and displayed by the Event List in a translated format and help automate the

correlation of common system conditions.

Viewing events on the Event List

The event list displays a filtered view of color-coded alerts in a scrolling list. You can set up multiple

events list clients, each with different priorities and filters. You can also use the event list to reprioritize

alerts and to assign or reassign problems to other users. When an alert has been assigned to a user,

the user can acknowledge it or deacknowledge it, so that it can be picked up by another user.
