Internal storage drives

ThetwoharddrivesincludedwiththeDL380G4DPStorageServerare

conﬁgured for hardware RAID fault tolerance using the HP Smart Array

6i RAID Controller. The H DDs are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable. The

drives are conﬁ gured by default into two logical drives at the controller

level.

The DL380 G4 DP Storage Server uses Microsoft Disk Manager (DM) to

present the 36 GB HDDs to the system as basic disks. The server uses two

logical drives as presented to it from the physical storage layer for the OS

and DON’T ERASE basic partitions. The internal DL380 G4 drives are

conﬁgured in a single RAID 5 partition. The non-OS logical drives are

used by DPM and should not be conﬁgured using DM.
