A.19.5 set password
The set password command allows you to change the password for a user, including the root user.
When you enter the command, you are asked to enter the new password—you do not have to enter the old
password. You are then asked to enter the new password a second time for confirmation. The password
entries are not echoed to the screen.
When you have changed the password, you must enter the configure server all command to bring
the change into effect, as follows (otherwise, the password is only changed on the local server):
sfs> configure server all
Syntax
set password user_name
Arguments
user_name Required. Specify the user whose password you want to change.
Example
The following example changes the password for the root user:
sfs> set password root
Please enter new root password:
Please retype root password:
A.19.6 set server
The set server command turns on/off the blue unit identification (UID) LED on a server. Turning the UID
LED on a server on or off can help you to physically locate the server in the event of a cabling or setup error.
Syntax
set server server_name|all [locator=on|off]
Arguments
server_name Required. Specify the name of the server, or all to turn on/off the UID LED on
all servers.
locator Optional. Specify whether the UID LED on the server is to be turned on or off.
Example
The following example turns on the blue UID LED on server south4.
sfs> set server south4 locator=on
