Downloading log files to the SSH client
You can download or delete core files output by XP RAID Manager on the List of RAS Information
(List of Core Files) window provided in NAS Blade Manager. For details, see the NAS Blade
Manager User's Guide.
To review XP RAID Manager log files, except core files, if the XP RAID Manager command terminates
in an error or to save log files before deleting them, you can download them by executing the
following scp command in the SSH client.
• For log files that XP RAID Manager (instance number 16) output:
scp {-1|-2} -r
nasroot@fixed-IP-address-of-the-NAS-package:/home/nasroot/log16
directory-name-on-the-SSH-client-to-download
• For log files that XP RAID Manager (instance number 17) output:
scp {-1|-2} -r
nasroot@fixed-IP-address-of-the-NAS-package:/home/nasroot/log17
directory-name-on-the-SSH-client-to-download
The following message (* means an instance number) is output and the scp command ends with
return code 1. This means there are no problems.
scp: /home/nasroot/log*/do_not_remove: Permission denied
NOTE: If you read XP RAID Manager log files using Windows, you must ensure that the text
viewer you are using can display text containing the line feed code LF (Line Feed).
Notes on operations of XP RAID Manager log files
Since XP RAID Manage P log files are output to NAS OS LU, if XP Continuous Access Journal
operations still show an error, log files become large and available space on NAS OS LU decreases.
You should periodically check the capacity of log files (except trace files) to which XP RAID Manager
restricts capacity, stop XP RAID Manager, and delete log files using the horc_logremove
command before exceeding 1 MB. Check the log files' capacity using the following command.
$ ls -l -R /home/nasroot/log* (* means an instance number 16 or 17)
