Assign a license manually
Use the Devices tab to manually assign licenses from the license pool to selected devices.
NOTE: For more information about installing a license le, see Install licenses.
Follow these steps to assign licenses:
1. Log into Security Manager, and then select the Devices tab.
2. On the Devices page, click the check box in the rst column to select a device in the Devices list panel or a
group from
All Devices.
3. Click the Assign Licenses icon located in Devices toolbar.
A message displays when assigning licenses.
A blue slide out displays if the devices selected have assigned licenses.
A green slide out displays for a successful operation.
A red slide out “No License Assigned” error message displays if the operation fails.
“Insucient licenses” dialog box message displays when no licenses are available.
NOTE: After Security Manager assigns a license to a device, the license is not returned to the license pool
until the device is deleted.
Set device credentials
Use the Set Credentials option to set device credentials for the devices to assess/remediate. You can set
SNMPv1/SNMPv2 and/or SNMPv3 credentials and set passwords for administration (HP Embedded Web Server),
le system, PJL, and remote conguration. After the credentials are set, Security Manager can assess/remediate
across a range of devices without having to reset the credentials or passwords for individual devices or groups of
devices.
Follow these steps to set the SNMPv1/SNMPv2 and/or SNMPv3 credentials:
1. Log into Security Manager, and then select the Devices tab.
2. On the Devices page, click the check box in the rst column to select a device in the “Devices list panel” or a
group from All Devices.
3. Click the Set Credentials icon located in the Devices toolbar and then select one of the following options:
Congure: Use this option to set or modify credentials for a device.
Copy: Use this option to copy credentials set for a device and paste the credentials to a device group
or devices.
NOTE: The Copy option applies for a single device.
Reset: Use this option to reset the credentials to the default settings in Security Manager.
4. Depending on the Set Credentials option selected, follow these steps to set credentials:
Congure option: Set credentials in the SNMP Credentials or Other Credentials section.
NOTE: If credentials are modied on a device, the Congure button is enabled.
