i) From the Compaq Connection Manager Screen double click on the
Control Panel button.
ii) Double click on the System icon the click on the System Info tab to verify
the flash size. Click the OK button.
b) Depending on the flash size, 16MB or 32MB, copy the two files (XXXX.bin &
params.ini) from the corresponding, T20 16MB or 32MB, subdirectory on the CD
and place in the directory created in Step 2. The largest image on the CD is
32MB.
c) From the Compaq Connection Manager screen double click on the Control Panel
button.
d) From the Compaq Control Panel double click the Upgrade icon. Select USE
LOCAL FTP INFORMATION; enter IP of the FTP server in the field SERVER
NAME and in the field SERVER DIRECTORY; the directory name of where the
files reside.
e) Click on the Upgrade button. After the T20 contacts the IIS/FTP server, a
Firmware Upgrade Warning box will appear on the terminal indicating that a
firmware upgrade is in process. Click on the Start button. The upgrade process
will begin.
f) After the terminal Firmware upgrade is completed, the terminal will reboot,
displaying a WYSE Splashscreen.
8) The terminal is ready for use.
9) Shutdown the terminal and install the Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity, COA, and
Wyse serial label as shown in Figure 2-2 below. Labels in the kit are similar to those
in the figure.
Note: Failure to install the labels may cause delays in service and support. This
serial number must be given to the Customer Support Technician to validate
entitlement to support and service from Wyse.
