benefit from the higher availability and to achieve full I/O throughput performance. Host server

settings for multi-pathing vary depending upon the OS being used.

Review documentation for each specific OS and version running on the connected host servers for

details and guidance on how to configure the applicable multi-pathing capability. Also review the

VMA SAN Gateway Release Notes for the version of gateway software OE that you are using for

additional host server OS recommendations.

Verify and Test Redundant Gateway Pair Configuration

It is now time to perform a final verification the redundant gateway pair is functioning correctly and

perform a final test of the configuration.

Verify that VMA Array containers and configured LUNs show ‘HA’ status by issuing the following CLI

commands:

• show containers

• show luns

Verify that the ‘primary’ and ‘secondary’ gateways are correctly configured and responding by

issuing the ‘show cluster global’ command and reviewing the command results. Also verify that the

‘cluster management VIP’ is working correctly and should now be used as the primary IP address for

management of the gateway pair.

Test the correct operation of the Redundant VMA SAN Gateway Pair by disabling and then re-

enabling Ethernet ports and switches, FC ports and switches, disconnecting a PCIe Pass-Thru cable

or rebooting a gateway one at a time to simulate a component or connection failure.

This completes the Redundant VMA SAN Gateway Pairing process.
