SMTP Server:
This is the IP address of the email server.
Username and
Password:
Some email servers require authentication to send email alerts. If required, enter
aUsernameandaPasswordherethatarevalidontheSMTPserverenteredin
the p revious box.
Sender’s Email
Account:
This is the email account to which the email will be attributed in the recipient’s
inbox. The account must exist on the email server. For example, you may like to
create an account called “MyD2D@MyServer.com”.
Recipient’s Email
Address 1/2/3/4:
This is the em
ail address of the person who should receive the message. Up to four
email addresses may be specied.Youmayonlyenteroneaddressperline.Once
you have congured an email recipient, there is a Test button that you can use to
sendateste
mail to the specied address.

Please refer to the Linux Cong uration Guide on the CD-ROM for information abut conguring SMTP
with Linux.
It is important to check the SMTP server’s security cong uration parameters to ensure that the Sender’s
Email Account can be recognized. Security conguration parameters are found within the SMTP virtual
server’s property pages. To view or modify them:
1. Open the Exchange Managem ent console.
2. Click on Servers and then the ser ver you wish to congure.
3. Click on Protocols and then SMTP.
4. You will see the default virtual SMTP server. Right click on this and select Properties.
5. Select the Access Control tab and then select Authentication.
