Cabling Guidelines
Cabling a SmartArray or other RAID Controller
Many configurations are possible when SCSI controllers are added. This section
outlines the procedure for connecting internal hard drives to a SCSI controller option
or a SmartArray Controller and assumes that the controller option or SmartArray
Controller is already installed.
If hard drives and the SCSI or SmartArray Controller are not already installed, follow
the steps in the sections “Installing and Removing a Hot-Plug Hard Drive” and
“Installing an Expansion Board” in Chapter 3, “Hardware Options Installation.”
To cable a SmartArray or other RAID controller:
1. Locate the SCSI cable that is connected to the primary SCSI controller channel.
