locate

Description Helps you locate speciﬁc hardware by ﬂashing the LEDs of the drives in the

requested hardware. These LEDs are visible from the front of the storage

enclosures.

Syntax locate <option> [time=<time>]

Operands <option>, wh

ere op tion equals one of the following:

ALL—Flashes the LEDs of all drives connected to the MSA storage

sub-system.

BOX <x>—Flashes the LEDs of the drives in the speciﬁed box.

BUS <x>—Fla

shes the LEDs of the drives connected to the speciﬁed bus,

where <x> is the bus number.

DISK <x>—Fl

ashes the LEDs of the speciﬁed drive, where <x>isthedrive

number.

UNIT <x>—F

lashes the LEDs of the drives in the speciﬁed unit, where

<x>istheunitnumber.

CANCEL—Di

scontinues the ﬂashing of the drive LEDs.

time=<time>

[Optional

] The length of time, in seconds, to ﬂash the LEDs. If no value is

speciﬁed,

the default value of 30 seconds is used.

Example

To ﬂash the

drive LEDs in box 1 for 10 seconds:
