120 HP ProLiant DL580 Generation 3 Server User Guide
NOTE: Port 1 supports hard drives 1 through 4. Port 2 supports
hard drives 5 through 8. If you are using a single channel SAS
controller, connect the cable to port 1.
USB cable assembly
The USB cable connects the front panel USB connector to the SCSI backplane.
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server ("Powering down the server" on page 37
).
2. Extend the server from the rack ("Extending the server from the rack" on
page 38
).
3. Remove the access panel ("Removing the access panel" on page 40
).
4. Remove the front bezel.
5. Disconnect all cables from the media board.
6. Remove the media board.
