• Paradise EGA or VGA card with 256 kbytes of memory
• two floppy disk drives or one floppy disk drive and hard disk (3.5 in.
or 5.25 in. disk drives can be used)
• serial communications port
• PC
-DOS/MS-DOS Version 5.0 or higher
• Reflection 4+ for DOS
• Meridian Terminal Emulator (MTE) for DOS (Version 5.32) or
Windows (Version 6, 7, or 8)
The VDTs supported by the Meridian MAX are the DEC VT520, VT420,
VT220, and 100% compatibles.
Unpack and assemble the workstation (PC) by following the installation
instructions given in the manufacturer’s user manual. Perform all setup and
diagnostic routines to ensure the viability of the equipment. This includes
formatting the hard disk (if present) as the DOS start-up drive.
Connect the workstation to the NT8D96AE cable for the Application
Module or the NT1R03AA or NT1R03BA cable for the IPE/IPE-E module.
Refer to the “Cables” section of the “Hardware installation: Application
Module (SNN/SNN-E)” chapter or “Hardware installation: Intelligent
Peripheral Equipment module” for more information on these cables.
Install the Reflection 4+ or MTE software to the hard disk (if present).
Reflection 4+ and MTE can be used on the same Meridian MAX but not on
the same PC. Before you start or restart the Meridian MAX, and each time
you power up the PC, you must follow the instructions described in the
“Reflection 4+” section or the “Meridian Terminal Emulator” section.

configuration” chapter, “Workstation configuration” section.
