e2400-160 FC, e2400-FC 2G, and e2400–FC 4G interface controllers
The FC interface controller translates the Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) to and from the SCSI protocol,
if necessary. It transfers commands, data, and status information to and from FC controllers and FC
and SCSI devices.
Supported devices include:
• Initiator devices – FC hosts
• Sequential access devices – tape drives
• Changer devices – tape libraries
The e2400-160 FC interface controller provides bidirectional connectivity for Ultra-3 SCSI buses in
a Fibre Channel Switched Fabric (FC-SW) environment.
The e2400-FC 2G and 4G interface controllers provide fibre connectivity for native FC drives, such
as the Ultrium 460-FC or 960 drive.
