
• Hard disk failures, as long as the replacement hard disk is the same size or larger than the original
and uses the same interface (for example, replace a SCSI hard disk with another SCSI disk)
• H ardware failures where the server is replaced by an identical component
• File corruption because of an operating system error
• File corruption because of an application software error
• Viruses that prevent you from booting your system correctly
• User errors that stop you from booting your system correctly
When you run HP One-Button Disaster Recovery, your autoloader goes through the following sequence:
1. It goes into a special disaster recovery mode that enables it to restore your operating system and
reboot. It acts like a bootable CD-ROM. (Your system’s ability to boot from CD-ROM is normally
enabled by default. If you have changed this setting, you will need to enable it again. Refer to
your system BIOS manual for further details.)
2. It returns to normal autoloader mode and restores the data.

To access the Suppor t menu:
1. From th
eHomescreen, press Previous or Next until the screen displays Support.Press Enter
to
select.
2. Press Previous or Next until the screen displays your sele cted function. Press Enter to select.
Updating drive code
CAUTION:
Do not interrupt a firmware upgrade because this may damage the tape drive.
Using HP Library & Tape Tools
You can download autoloader and drive firmware using the HP Library & Tape Tools diagnostic utility. This
utility may already be installed on your server. If not, download it from w
ww.hp.com/supp ort/TapeTools.
Online help and instructions are included with HP Library & Tape Tools. The firmware download
procedure involves these simple steps:
1. Run the HP Library & Tape Tools utility.
2. If prompted to download new firmware from the website, select Yes, otherwise, select Get Firmware
from Web und er the File menu.
3. Click the desired firmware revisions for the autoloader that you would like to download firmware to,
and
then click Download.The firmware file is copied into the HP Library & Tape Tools firmware folder.
4. Close the firmware windo w.
5. Select the autoload er in the By Product device list tab, and then select the Firmware button. The
latest revi sion available for the autoloader is automatically selected.
6. Select Start Update to update the firmware for the autoloader.
