
IMPORTANT:
You should not meet any resistance while removing the magazine. However, if there has
been a power failure, a cartridge may be not be fully seated in the magazine slot. If it feels
as if there is an obstruction, stop. Do not try to pull the magazine out by force; you may
damage the autoloader. Contact your HP support representative.

4. If there are additional car tridges still in the autoloader, or if you were unable to manually
remove the magazines and drive, contact HP ser vice for further instructions. See
“HP technical support” on page 10.
Inability to insert or remove a magazine (also error 8D)
It is possible that a tape is not fully inserted in the magazine but the magazine is still allowed to be
loaded in the autoloader. This tape could then come out further and obstruct the robot.
If the mag azine inserted was the lef t magazine
1. Power down the unit.
2. Remove the autoloader from the rack.
3. Tilt it so theleftsideofthe autoloader is facing up.
4. Gently rock the autoloader and listen for the sound of a cartridge coming out of the m agazine and
or
rattling around. If there is no loose cartridge sound, set the autoloader down and contact you
local service representative.
5. If there is a rattling sound, tilt the autoloader so that the front right corner is the lowest point and then
gently set the autoloader down on a horizontal surface
6. Manually release and remove the right magazine.
7. The cartridge should be visible in the o pening for the right magazine. Reach in and pull it out.
8. Replace the right magazine.
9. Manually remove the left magazine.
